What we’re listening to

What we’re watching • Most of the dish team live in Auckland, so we’ve been in and out of lockdown lately. Not so much fun, but what is nice is having a plethora of movies and shows at our fingertips. We asked around the team for recommendations and boy, did they deliver! Here’s the list of what we’re watching at the moment

Uelese Mua, Head Chef at Euro • As the kiwi-born Samoan chef takes the reins as new head chef at Euro, he reveals his foodie secrets – from what diners can expect in the new menu to his favourite Samoan dish, and giving cooking advice to his aunties as a young child.

IN THE MIX • Juicy slices of Greenlea Butcher Shop's Tri Tip Beef work with crunchy goodness

Ohau Gourmet Mushrooms • A Levin couple growing exotic mushrooms are expanding their fungi footprint with an innovative offering that includes mini farms for customers to grow their own at home.

No nonsense • Angel Bay's patties prove that the classic no-fuss burger has stood the test of time

Amok, Wellington • Named for a Radiohead album, the latest addition to Mt Victoria’s dining precinct brings an exciting sliver of the Sydney scene to the capital.

THE PLATING GAME • We asked two of our favourite Kiwi celebrities to share their food loves so we could create dishes especially for them

ARTIST OF THE MONTH

PICI KEEN • If you ever needed convincing of the mantra that “less is more”, a visit to Auckland’s stripped-back but soulful new pasta restaurant, Pici, should do the trick

HIGHER POWER • This former convent waves goodbye to monastic simplicity and hello to fabulous flavours within a chic hotel setting

ESCAPE • Whether for a long weekend or an extended stay for a special occasion, The Landing provides the ultimate in luxury accommodation in serene surroundings

THAT’S AMORE • From bite-size delights to soothing sweets, Italian cuisine always has a place in our hearts. So prepare to be romanced by these simple yet seductive dishes

SPICE SPICE BABY • Let this fusion of sweet, sour and spicy dishes take you somewhere truly exotic. Deliciously aromatic and exploding in flavour, your taste buds will thank you for it

sweet • Indulge in these Easter desserts – there’s fruity options for those who’ve reached their chocolate limit and more chocolatey treats for those for whom there’s no such thing

FOOD FAST • Simple, quick and stylish meals – maximum impact with minimum...
