Australian Women’s Weekly NZ

A queen’s blessing • When Queen Rania of Jordan celebrated the marriage of her daughter Princess Iman, 26, and venture capitalist Jameel Thermiotis, she had one thought in her heart. “I pray this next chapter in your life brings you as much joy, love and laughter as you have brought us over the years,” she wrote. The Jordanian princess wore an exquisite Dior gown that was custom-designed by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Leaving a legacy • Two years and three million trees after the first tree was planted for the Queen’s Green Canopy tree planting initiative, King Charles and Prince William have dug in the final tree of the project. Meanwhile, William and Kate’s love story features in season six of The Crown, in which Kate will be played by Meg Bellamy (below, right).

Princess shares magic moment • Princess Eugenie adores motherhood. This UK Mother’s Day, she enjoyed some special time with her little boy August ahead of the arrival of a new sibling in winter, declaring, “I love being your Mumma!”

Sarah shows off secret bump • Actress Sarah Snook brought high drama to the premiere of the final season of Succession by revealing she is 32 weeks pregnant. “This is the first time I’ve been out in public that it’s been photographed,” she said. “Gotten away with it this far!”

Rare book ruined by curious cat • Librarians at Australia’s State Library of Victoria could be forgiven for having kittens upon the discovery that a rare 17th-century book had been defaced by its owner’s cat. The mischievous pet had walked inky paw prints all over page 142.

Grinning in the rain • Despite the drizzle, former US President Barack Obama and Aussie PM Anthony Albanese were all smiles for Obama’s recent visit to Sydney.

A funny thing happened

Around the world

Coronation of King Charles III & Queen Camilla • From the jewels and the ceremony, to the history and family roles, here’s everything you need to know.

The Regalia

The six stages of the ceremony

King of quiches • As part of The Weekly’s preparations for King Charles III’s grand ceremony, we share the King and Queen’s recipe for the Coronation Big Lunch celebrations – a deep-dish quiche with a light pastry case and delicate poached salmon, broad bean and tarragon flavours. It’s perfect for a lunch or picnic, and delicious hot or cold with a green salad and boiled new potatoes.

JANE FONDA “Keep your girlfriends close!” • Jane Fonda has been married three times but says her best relationships are with women. In a candid interview, the Hollywood icon and activist talks about her difficult childhood, personal regrets and having fantastic fun behind the scenes on her new film.

JOHN FARNHAM “He inspires us every day” • As John Farnham recovers from a battle with cancer, ahead of a new film about the legendary Australian singer’s life, family and friends share his deeply personal story with The Weekly.

On the trail of Marion Barter • How the clues to Australia’s most mysterious missing persons case were untangled by a devoted daughter and a team of amateur sleuths.

WARRIOR QUEEN Barbara bares HER SOUL • Best-selling Dunedin author Barbara Else reflects on how she found her voice after her failed first marriage, the power of becoming a grandmother and why her battle with cancer has enhanced her creativity.
