Her 1900s bluestone cottage is all high and ornate ceilings and beautiful archways, leading to an open-plan living area, where its mid-century-inspired design perfectly sums up both her art and interior style. Close friend Michelle Attard of MAD Studio helped to bring a lot of Denise’s ideas to fruition in the space, which has views of a bamboo garden and is used for entertaining, relaxing and reflection. “It’s my favourite room because of the outlook, the light and the artwork we’ve collected,” says Denise. One of her own linen prints, Alma, acts as the centrepiece, alongside furniture with clean lines and curves in an earthy palette. Denise sells her work at fentonandfenton.com.au and directly through denisehojdyssek.com
