Yoga/fitness/dance instructor Heagberg Rebar's (coauthor, Yoga Where You Are) guide to accomplishing inverted yoga poses is both comprehensive and adjustable for all skill levels. Suitable for everyone, from newbies to yoga instructors looking for professional development, the book is structured to enable experienced yoga practitioners to flip to a particular inverted pose that interests them. Beginners can use this title to increase their strength and flexibility, progressing through the various poses, which are designed to build up to an inverted one. A handstand, for example, takes core strength and hip mobility, which the reader can gain from practicing mountain climbers and pigeon poses. The book includes photographs of models across a wide spectrum of body types. There are also options for gentler movements if the reader can't or shouldn't try a certain pose. The book's approach to inverted poses may not be quick or easy, but the main purpose is to encourage readers to give it a try. Readers will benefit from the author's experience in teaching yoga and the clear, step-by-step instructions. VERDICT The easy-to-understand sequences, helpful photographs, and welcoming process to execute inverted yoga poses make this a great addition to any collection.--Rosemary Medrano
