HAPPY 35th birthday, BioGro! • This year marks the significant milestone of 35 years of certifying organic production for BioGro, New Zealand’s largest certifier. It’s also a milestone for organics, as Theresa Sjöquist discovers.

From seed TO PLATE • Brie Sherow talks with Jade Temepara, whose Kākano Café grew from Hand Over A Hundy, her mentoring programme that helped families start home gardens. Now she’s reaching even more people with her organic gardening show He Kākano on Māori Television, and her seed-to-plate cafe with on-site gardens and cookery school in central Christchurch. (Kākano means seed in te reo Māori.)
