The Nature of Nature

It would all too easy to narrate this audiobook in a basso profundo voice-of-doom style, but Will Damron wisely chooses a more conversational tone. That makes the author's introduction to ecology easier for the layperson to follow. Damron strikes a more hopeful tone when the author presents his solutions to the world's environmental problems, along with his belief in the need to keep wild places wild. His examples span the globe and take the listener to some exotic and not-so-exotic locales, usually based on his studies and travels. In a sobering epilogue, he shows how saving nature can save us all. Damron's facility with foreign names and scientific language makes the work flow more smoothly.
