As Ex and Arinya grow closer, he discovers her true identity and connection to Suyoram’s power players, raising the stakes of his promise to keep her safe. With ancient demons ahead of them and killers behind, their path is fraught with danger. After a slow and somewhat murky start, Goldenberg fills her protagonists’ journey with twists, gory fight scenes, and lighthearted romance. There’s plenty to enjoy in this inventive dark fantasy.
